A new look T&T side with three Sunday debutants took the field against a weakened Mortimer West End side due to Village Knock Out Cup commitments on the second beautiful day of the weekend.

James had no hesitation in choosing to bat first and Rog and Micky had no hesitation in taking up the invitation to open the batting. Both started cautiously but steadily a partnership was developed with the fifty being raised in the 15th over. Micky was the first to go trying to lift the scoring rate and Rog soon followed both to the in-swing bowling of the youthful Prinn. Ed and James then formed a further useful partnership taking the score through to 130 at the 30 over mark.

With plenty of time left and wickets in hand James and Dennis both played their shots and found the boundary on a regular basis, both hitting two sixes. James went for 58 to allow Spike to join the fun as 93 runs were added in the last 11 overs.

225 was always going to be a tough target for MWE to chase and so it proved. The opening batsman struggled to get the ball away and it wasn't until the 21st over that the fifty was raised. By this time both openers had gone, Keep to a sharp stumping by Dopey and Cumner to a fine leg side catch by Dopey to give Wof his first wicket for the club (Dennis' display behind the stumps wasn't entirely unblemished though as later he put down the simplest of chances).

Stephen also soon took his first wicket for the club but time was running out. Despite a late flurry of wickets the Mortimer West End batsman in the end held on comfortably for the draw, T&T missing out on too many chances to be able to force the victory.
