On winning the toss Englefield elected to bat first and after the fall of the first wicket it was as if two different games were being played. At one end Gale was prodding and poking and struggling to get the ball away whilst at the other Waseem was hitting the ball very hard practically wherever he liked.

This was a game where the decisive moment probably came very early. Before he reached 20 Waseem was dropped at mid off from the bowling of Rog and he didn't give another chance until he was out for 104. After his dismissal the scoring rate again slowed dramatically as wickets fell on a regular basis and 192-8 represented something of a recovery for T&T and gave us a chance of victory.

The early dismissals of Phil and Talat put us on the back foot but Micky, James and Edward all played well to put us back in contention. When Ed raised his fifty with a glorious cover drive off the first ball of the 34th over the score was 143-5 and the game could have gone either way. However, by the end of the over the score was 144-8; Stephen was run out trying for a second to keep Ed on strike, Rog was run out without facing a ball and finally Ed was bowled.

Some late lusty blows from Imran aside that was the game over as a contest and Englefield ran out winners by 28 runs.
