With the Theale Social Club family fun day taking place on the Englefield Road recreation ground we decamped to Burghfield for the day. On winning the toss Lower Earley appeared to have little hesitation in putting us in to bat. Rog went in the first over but there was intentionally an experienced top six to try and avoid a repeat of the collapse that we had suffered in the same game last year.

Dennis looked in particularly good touch until he was given out lbw and it was Ed who proved to be the rock of the innings. Ed received some stern comment at the drinks interval from Imran about his scoring rate and seemed to take it very much to heart hitting the first three balls after drinks for four. Ed went on to score his third fifty in four innings and was left not out at the end having steered T&T to a very competitive 180 all out. He received good support all the way down the order, particularly from Imran who scored a quickfire 22, taking 21 of them off one over to show Ed how it was done.

Lower Earley got off to a good start in reply and it wasn't until the 8th over that Rog bowled Mohsin Khan, one of our ex-colts rather than the former international batsman. We then started to work our way through the order although dropped catches weren't helping, Bob was the unlucky bowler having three catches put down by the 'keeper and slips.

With the rain closing in we tried to rush through the overs but to no avail. With four overs remaining and three wickets to take the rain came to end the match as a draw.
