With the opposition at 140-0 after 30 overs Osman as captain must have been wondering about the wisdom of his decision upon winning the toss for the second week running. However, on either occasion you would have done well at the time to find anyone who would have disagreed with his decision.

Osman himself had bowled a tight opening spell and with Bob back nearer his normal self the score at ten overs had been an unspectacular 28-0. However, as the batsman became set they were able to take advantage of some loose deliveries to increase the scoring rate and raise the 100 partnership in the 22nd over.

The introduction of young Mo initially slowed the scoring rate and it was he who deservedly took the first wicket, Micky taking the catch. Fingers and Rog then took wickets early in their spells and suddenly the score was 145-3. It was Holmes who ensured that London Theatres took their final total past 200.

If T&T were going to get these runs then two of the top four had to get in and make a score. After Micky and Rog both went lbw to the impressive Chisnell both Dennis and Ed got starts but were unable to go on and play the match winning innings. Defeat looked more likely when 6 wickets went down for 20 runs to leave nine wickets down with nine overs to go. At this point Trevor and Bob brought their considerable experience to the fore and added an unbeaten 29 for the final wicket as they batted the game out for a draw with relative ease.
