A new friendly fixture this for T&T away at what could be characterised as the traditional village setting of Yattenden.

Osman lost the toss and we were put in to bat. The straight boundaries looked invitingly short but the pitch was one that didn't really come on to the bat and made driving anything other than the longest of half volleys a dangerous option. Rog went caught behind in the first over but the initial scoring rate was fairly fluent. The score had reached 38 in the eleventh over when Dennis became the second caught behind victim. This was when the hard graft started with Ed holding the innings together with a patient 29 whilst others came and went. When Ed was seventh man out in the 34th over the score was 98 and a total of 120-130 was seen as being realistic.

Osman has had a funny season with the bat, when his overall figures are looked at he appears to be doing okay but we all know that with the ability he has got he should be doing a lot better. His tendency to throw his wicket away through silly run outs is infuriating to everyone. On this occasion though it was Osman at his best as he found a fluency no-one before had managed as he scored 43 off 31 balls including 6 fours. In partnership with Fingers he added 58 for the 8th wicket in eight overs. Trev came out and hit the last ball of the innings for four to see us through to what seemed an unlikely 160.

In reply Yattenden got off to a decent start with Phil Green finding the boundary with some regularity. However, when Maskell got a leading edge to a Bob full toss and was caught by Cameron in the gully he was the first of several Yattenden batsman to find soft ways of getting out, when Green was bowled by a Trev full toss for 41 Yattenden's hopes of victory disappeared.

With the weather closing in Rog took the final wicket to leave T&T with victory by 83 runs
