This is a very long standing fixture that dates back to the Tilehurst days. In all of these years there have been some very one sided games (both ways) and at the start this looked like it might be another. RUASCC had seemingly been struggling to get eleven right up until the last minute and not all their players had been able to make the start time. Manoj bowled a tidy opening spell but Micky in particular was able to take advantage of the unintended variety included in Vishnu's bowling.

The arrival of Saadat, who was swiftly introduced in to the attack, changed the tone of the game. Bowling at a reasonable pace and with some intended variation he caused all the batsman he bowled to problems. He bowled Micky with a clever slower ball and James soon nicked one to the keeper, with Cameron having already gone to Manoj a promising start had become 54-3.

The introduction of Zia Ul-Haq put a brake on the innings with the batsman unable to get him away. As it was it took some vigorous late batting from Os and Rags to get the total up to 127-9.

On a slow pitch and a slow outfield if T&T bowled well this had the potential to be a competitive total. However, like T&T had done RUASCC got off to a good start against the quicker bowling until Andy Eagle nicked Bob to the keeper. It was the introduction of the slower bowlers that put a brake on the innings and started the fall of wickets. Dersh Patel went to a good stumping by Ed and Fingers also got rid of Zia Ul-Haq and Saadat. This opened up one end and Rags was able to take advantage as a triumvirate of members of the Countryside Alliance came and went quickly to some swings more suited to the fields at Harvest time.

It was left to Dip Patel and Richard Tranter to block out the last half dozen overs to secure the draw for RUASCC.
