Theale & Tilehurst Under 15s vs Thatcham 16th June 2006

This was like watching a game in reverse. Having struggled with the bat as a team all season Mark and Buster put on a superb partnership of 71 for the first wicket to set up a platform that could take us to a competitive total. Mark and Buster seem to do most things together so inevitably when Mark was out Buster got out next ball.

However, with the platform set the later batsman could play with freedom and Sam and Chris in particular were able to find the boundaries and take the total up past 100.

However, on a good pitch this was not a total that put Thatcham out of the game. However, Deepak and Chris were soon amongst the wickets as Thatcham subsided to 11-6 and 21-7. With the Theale Tigers presentation evening taking place back at Theale there was the positive thought from some that there would be an early finish and they wouldn't be too late. It wasn't to be though as Winfield and Ford built the biggest partnership of the innings and safely batted out the 20 overs.

This though was a big improvement on previous performances and hopefully the confidence gained from this game can be taken in to the remaining games of the season.
