Well it was going to be a scorcher and England were playing at 4:00.  Micky chose to field first enabling us to watch the second half and penalties (well that was worth it).

Mo took a wicket early on with a fantastic catch in gully from Nehal.  Chef took the other opener when he was trapped in front of the wickets with one that swung (Tim are you sure???).  Micky then took a good catch at 2nd slip. 

This brought Behl to the crease who immediately had an impact.  He looked to score off every ball and was quick between the wickets.  The change of bowling brought Arslan on and Behl skied one high in the air.  Chef called "mine" and slowly went underneath it, Pawan shouted "mine" who was already underneath it.  As the ball entered Pawan's hands, Chef shouted "yours".  All I can say is lucky Pawan ignored Chef and has got safe hands.

Wickets then tumbled at regular intervals until the 8th wicket partnership of 37.  When Micky brought himself on he got the break through.  This brought a junior in to bat but Micky opted to swing the ball round him, leaving the batsmen looking at square leg with a stunned look on his face.  Unfortunately we had just run out of overs and Ruislip ended on 175 for 9.

What was to follow was an utter disgrace to the game.  Full of controversy.  A truly shocking performance.  England can't take penalties for toffee.  Seems like during the football we lost three wickets with all of the batsmen getting in but none of them going on to a big score.  Couldn't tell you what happened though as was far too engrossed.  After walking out of the pavilion I then watched Rags and Nehal stroke the ball around to ease us home with 5 overs and 7 wickets left.  Not quite sure what the problem was with the three openers but having not seen it, I can't really comment.  Another great batting performance.

Now we are at the halfway point and I'm doing teas next week so be warned.
