Well the game started 50 mins late while we waited for the pitch to dry a little and for Ram to navigate round the huge metropolis that is Bradfield. It was an important toss and Meady won and elected to bowl first.
We made a breakthrough in the second over with Comber edging it to Eddie who took a great catch at first slip. Clearly the pre-match fielding helped Eddie, although he dropped the only practice catch that went his way.
Bishop was then plumb in front by Ram. It was then a crazy run out that saw the dismissal of the other opener Crew.
Allen played aggressively although seemed to ride his luck with some drops and the ball generally falling between fielders and a stumping\run out that wasn't given. Ram then had North caught behind. After bowling a pile of pants, Aygz pulled out a beauty to bowl Bolton, then another to bowl Hall, then went back to the option of pants.
Rags then took Atkinson. Chef bowled Allen with an absolutely corking off stump yorker (even if I say so myself) but it was Rags who then stole the next two wickets from me. They were all out for 127 and it was very much a tail of one wicket.
It was nice to see Rog at the ground (who was unavailable due to injury). As the JCB left the ground carrying his helping of Tea the game began again.
As we set off, it was in the second over that Eddie's eye's lit up, the ball bounced too high and he dollied one up to gully. James and Meady put together a good partnership, both playing positively. Meady hitting two lovely sixes. It was Meady (32) to go first, further reducing his ridiculous average but James (35) was to follow soon after.
This brought to the crease the lighting pair of Micky and Nehal. It wasn't long before Micky called for a quick single and it seemed like the world stopped turning. It seemed everyone on the pitch had suddenly turned into slow motion, including the fielder. After the twilight zone had finished Micky was then caught on 5.
It was down to The Finisher (Nehal) who yet again saw us home with 39 in 46 balls, ably assisted by Andy (who is a welcome return for my fantasy team). We again picked up 30 points and long may the run continue.
