T&T u13s took on a MWE u13s side that was as young as the T&T u15s side had been earlier in the week. This time T&T batted first through choice and raced along to 53-2 off six overs; Harry making an aggressive 17 and Jordan also striking the ball cleanly on his way to 28.

However, the middle of the innings lost its way a bit as wickets started to fall and the runs started to dry up. With the score 84-6 in the thirteenth over there was a danger that we wouldn't bat the full allocation of overs. James and Rob initially consolidated the innings and then with wickets in hand again were able to take full advantage at the end of the innings as they took 32 off the last three overs. In the process both achieved their highest scores for the club (James 25 not out and Rob 10 not out) as they put on an unbroken 51 for the seventh wicket; almost certainly a record for that wicket in any youth cricket for the club.

Things started badly for MWE in reply as Andrews was run out off the first ball of the innings by Michael's diving stop and throw from extra cover. The fourth over of the innings turned the game decisively in T&T's favour as Josh took his second and thrid wickets and in between Alec ran out Holt with a direct hit from point; this left the score 15-5.

With the result effectively decided the bowling was shared around with Henry, Rob and Andy D all picking up wickets. With the 8 year old S Andrews at the crease in the final partnership and Kieron fielding as a substitute for his injured brother it only seemed fair to let the eight year olds battle it out. Andrews won the first battle with a drive down the ground for two but Kieron came straight back next ball to have Andrews caught at extra cover; perhaps a battle that will be recommenced at some point in the future.
